Closed call: Nordic user driven competence centre for realisation of carbon capture and storage
The Nordic Top-level Research Initiative announces a call for proposals to support the establishment of a Nordic User Driven Competence Centre for realisation of Carbon Capture and Storage.
The objective of the Centre is to boost innovation, joint actions and processes in the Nordic countries and to increase industry-driven innovation in CCS. This call aims for a model of cooperation based on the need for more innovation for CCS realisation within the Nordic countries.
Basic tasks within the Centre will be:
- Conduct examples/feasibility studies for CCS implementation including early phase cost estimation, energy needs and solutions and market evaluation.
- Define the main tasks for realisation and approach.
- Communication for realisation of CCS.
Funded projects within the TFI should include different actors from at least three Nordic countries. Participation in the Centre should be balanced between the private and public sectors. TFI funding can be up to 75% of total costs. TFI funding is to develop and run the activities in the Centre. The budget of the Centre is NOK 35 million and the duration of the Centre is 4 years.
The deadline for applications is March 1st 2011.
