The Top-level Research Initiative visits Euroscience Open Forum in Turin
July 2-7 is the time for Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) - a biennial European meeting dedicated to scientific research and innovation. Representatives from the Top-level Research Initiative will be there, both on stand and with a panel discussion in the programme “Science to business” July 5th 12:00.
Leading scientists, researchers, business people, entrepreneurs and innovators, policy makers, science and technology communicators and the general public from all over the world will come together in Turin to discuss new discoveries and debate the direction that research is taking in the sciences, humanities and the social sciences.
ESOF is an international and multidisciplinary event that takes place every two years in a major European city - this year Turin is host.
Lectures, workshops, panel discussions and other activities will focus on areas such as scientific and technological research in Europe, bridging the gap between science and society, and stimulating policies to support scientific research.
ESOF also serves as a young scientists’ forum, encouraging students,
PhD students and post-docs to share their experience and participate in
debates.
There will also be a wide range of events and happenings throughout the
ESOF host city, targeted to the public at large of all ages.
The Top-level Research Initiative will be present at a stand throughout
the conference, and we also invite all interested participants to join
our panel discussion July 5th 12:00. The title of this part of the
programme is: “The Nordic Top-level
Research Initiative – a model for co-operation in
Europe?”
The speakers are:
• Rolf Annerberg, Director-General of the Swedish Research Council
for Environment, Agricultural Sciences and Spatial Planning (Formas)
and Chair of the Top-level Research Initiative’s Management Board
• Halldór Ásgrímsson, Secretary-General of the Nordic Council of
Ministers
