Projects funded within "Integration of Large-scale Wind Power"
Three projects will be funded within the sub-programme “Integration of Large-scale Wind Power”.
On the 15th of October 2009 the sub-programme launched a call for a
call for user driven research projects. The budget for this call was 30
MNOK, and the thematic topic focused on grid aspects, power and energy
aspects, energy market aspects, operation and maintenance and cold
climate and offshore wind power.
In this call there was a two stage application procedure, and industry
participation in the projects was encouraged. The Programme Committee
received 14 pre-applications, and 5 full applications.
Based on the evaluations of a panel of three non-Nordic experts, the
Nordic Programme Committee made a decision 27th of April 2010 to fund
three projects within the sub-programme’ call:
• Improved forecast of wind, waves and icing
(ICEWIND)
Project leader: Risø DTU, Denmark. Partner countries: Finland,
Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
• DC grids for integration of large scale wind power
(OffshoreDC)
Project leader: Risø DTU – Technical University of Denmark,
Denmark. Partner countries: Finland, Norway and Sweden.
• Optimal spinning reserve of power systems considering
forecasting error of load and wind power generation under market
environment (OSRNordic)
Project leader: Aalborg University, Denmark. Partner countries:
Iceland and Sweden.
